God's Timing. I think its safe to say that it is not fun to wait for God. It can seem to be a burden on our lives when we have to wait to do what it next.Read this:"My eyes grow weary looking for what You have promised; I ask, "When will You comfort me?" (Ps. 119:82)
Leave it to God to provide an answer for every question we have. David was struggling with God's timing, too. His eagerness for God's answer is comparable to when we look for a ship long expected, or for a friend long absent, or for help when in danger (Matthew Barnes Commentary). We need to understand something: God is trying the faith and patience of his people by mere delay (Matthew Barnes Commentary). He wants us to serve Him where we are with what we know. When we need to know more He will show us.
Look at the call of Abraham in Genesis:"The LORD said to Abram: Go out from your land, your relatives, and your father's house to the land that I will show you." (Genesis 12:1)
Abraham didn't know where He was going, but God promised to show Him. He held onto the part God told him, went, and waited eagerly for more instruction. It is hard to wait on God. Trust me, I'm doing it too. We all are. He will come through. He always does. Let's make Him proud by acting on what we do know where we currently are :)
Sold out to Christ? Sold out to Christ!
